The word “tempest” means a strong mighty storm. As a herald, nature’s changes come all of a sudden and pave the way for the mighty one to come. It always impacts the environment negatively and convulses the weather totally. The more it roars the more it destructs. Nothing is left behind, which is not affected by its mighty touch. On its way, it lashes, throws, uproots, and turns everything upside down that stands before it. The aftermath of a tempest will always be horrible and pathetic. It is common for every survivor to have lost his loved ones, belongings, properties, and even his dwelling place. The place where he had been living becomes alien to him and often seems difficult to recognise. But as time elapses everyone gets settled and accustomed to the new living atmosphere. The new atmosphere will never be like that of the atmosphere of the days before. But the people reconstruct the dilapidated homes and live with new hope and expectations.
As we look around, we see that Christianity changes its spiritual environment and there is a decline in its percentage in all countries every day in the world. The data before us of each census, which is being taken at a decade’s interval, distress us and make our souls saddened. The countries that once reverberated the emancipating voice of the Gospel, droop down from their concrete base -The Scripture, and corner the Corner Stone, even renouncing Him forever. As a result, the power of darkness reigns all over and keeps the mankind under his clutches. Thus, satan emboldens everyone to enjoy all sorts of sin in the world at its extreme, which is very contrary to the delivering Word of God and makes them be with him in the eternal fire forever.
If we observe the past, each century, we see this repeats quite often. Every time, God lifts someone up to intercede for heavenly intervention. The 1904 Wales Revival and Azusa Street Revival are some examples. There, a few men of God wept and interceded long, for a Mighty Tempest of Holy Spirt to blow across their land. At last, it happened. It struck and demolished all the citadels of the power of darkness that tried to cover and suppress the Light of the Gospel, into ashes and restored eternal peace to everyone, and made the land prosperous. If we go deep into the result of this revival, we will be certain that we too are the by-products of these great revivals!
Therefore dears, let us call upon the Lord for another mighty Tempest of the Holy Spirit to blow once again upon this land, lash, uproot, destruct, and destroy every strategy and cause the stronghold of satan to come down. Then everyone would turn their faces to the Lord Jesus Christ and be free of the devil’s captivity.
Therefore, now is the moment to pray fervently for a final day outpouring of the Holy Spirit, that will physically fulfill the prophecies of the prophet Joel (Joel. 2:28)
May the Lord Jesus bless and strengthen us to hope and wait every day for that mighty TEMPEST to come to pass.
